HULL PUBLIC SCHOOLS INTEGRATED PRESCHOOL PROGRAM 2025-2026

The Integrated Preschool program is designed to include both young children with disabilities and typically developing peers. While addressing the individual needs of students receiving special education services, the Integrated Preschool Program emphasizes the development of all children within an appropriate curriculum, based on the Massachusetts Department of Secondary and Elementary Education Preschool Curriculum Frameworks. Classrooms are designed to support learning through play with meaningful instruction in all content areas (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, social/emotional play and learning) that foster all areas of a child’s development: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.

Admission Procedure

All Preschool students must reside within Hull. Preferences will be given to children who will be 3 years old by the District’s first day of school as noted on the HPS school year calendar.

  • Typically developing peers are considered to be those children who do not currently receive special education services. They are expected to demonstrate age-appropriate skills (within 6 months) in the areas of speech-language, cognitive abilities, fine and gross motor, socialization and behavioral skills. Peers must also be fully toilet trained.
  • Eligibility for special education services is determined through a team evaluation process. The Integrated Preschool Education Team evaluates children ages 3-5 to determine if they meet the state-mandated criteria for eligibility for special education services. Children with disabilities can be referred by parents, teachers, pediatricians, student support teams, and private community care providers. Students eligible for special education services must have a signed Individual Education Program (IEP) as well as other required registration forms on file to begin receiving services. Anyone who feels their child may be in need of special education services can receive further information by contacting the Office of Student Services at 781-925-4400 x 1121.

Registration packets are available at the Office of Student Services located at the Administration Office of the Hull Public Schools, or register online here.
